Office access and Wi-Fi
Desk connections, meeting rooms and wireless users place different demands on the network. Floor plans, device numbers and busy areas help define switch capacity and access-point placement. Staff, guest and equipment access can then be considered separately, with the appropriate routing and firewall rules.
Servers, storage and virtualisation
Applications depend on more than processor capacity. Memory, storage usage, connections between hosts and SAN storage, and existing VMware workloads all influence the design. An upgrade should account for these dependencies, rather than select servers in isolation from the network and the systems they run.
Visibility after installation
Monitoring and configuration management help an IT team understand what is connected and where a fault may sit. SolarWinds and ManageEngine are part of the service scope. Devices to monitor, alert recipients and responsibility for configuration changes should be defined alongside the installation.
